A Pause for Presence
2020 has been a strange year indeed so far. In early March we followed the Welsh guidelines and took the decision to close Aber Falls Distillery doors to the public due to the progression of Coronavirus.
Now.. 3 months down the line we have all had a taste of ‘lockdown life’, it's ups and it's downs. At Aber, production has been nonstop. The distillery team has been tirelessly working through lockdown to continue the production of our Whisky ready for March 2021 next year. This, along with our local delivery service all over the North Wales coast has meant that the staff have been hard at work providing our award winning gins to those in need of a beverage or two.

Being located in such beautiful countryside and stunning coast line has been a benefit to us these last few weeks. Avoiding busy cities, populated areas and some of the highest number of cases there have been in large central urban areas across the United Kingdom, we have all felt extremely fortunate to be surrounded by outstanding natural beauty and quarantined in our little village of Abergwyngregyn.
All of us who are able to work from home have been asked to do so, leaving a small team of eight working safely on a large site and luckily for us Abergwyngregyn has a population of just 240 people. With this and the Falls being closed following government instruction, it has made social distancing less of a challenge here at Aber but more so a new reality that we must adhere to; ensuring we keep the Gin flowing and the Whisky distilling here at Aber Falls Distillery.

Our local communities are important to us. As a delayed peak of Covid 19 in the North West begins to surface, we have been taking all necessary precautions and measures to keep our staff and the public safe. Taking a break from producing gin we have utilised our gin stills to produce sanitiser. This is available for businesses, customers and anyone else to purchase. Our sanitiser is available on our online shop for local delivery.

We are taking these new challenges as they come, we are optimistic and do believe there is a way through this for everyone in the Food and Drinks sector. As a team we couldn’t be closer, we are all pulling together to help each other enjoy this crazy year.
We are hoping to attend Events again and continue our Distillery Tours at some point during the upcoming winter months; however nothing is certain in these times. We are looking into virtual events and increasing our online presence to keep in contact with you, our loyal customers.

We would like to thank you for helping us get through this, ensuring we continue our connection into the virtual world together is vital. We must stay connected and look after each other, from our Aber family to yours. The present does not need to seem bleak...we are remaining open from the inside for now and will be raring to go as soon as we get the go ahead form the Welsh Government. We cannot wait to see you all again and at the opening of our brand new Visitor Centre!!
Stay safe, stay well, stay connected, support your community and drink gin!
To all of our local customers we have some good news! Our online shop is now LIVE for you to continue enjoying our Welsh Gin & Liqueurs at home. Get a taste of the Spirit of North Wales delivered to your doorstep.
