Aber Falls Upcoming Autumn Whisky Release
Following the overwhelming demand for our inaugural release whisky in May, we’re working towards our next release which is due for bottling this September. There will be a plentiful supply of our deep amber gold liquid available, that we’ve lovingly crafted and matured here in Abergwyngregyn.
We are excited to launch this whisky as part of our globally award-winning portfolio of spirits, and as the first whisky distillery in North Wales for over 100 years. With the recent opening of our new visitor centre and bistro, this upcoming launch is one of the key milestones for Aber Falls in 2021.
The distillery has come a long way. Previously a slate works in the 19th century, a margarine factory during the world wars, and more recently a drinks wholesaler depot, our main distillery building was lovingly restored in 2017 and began producing whisky in 2018. Some of that whisky that our team of passionate distillers and Master Blender have been working on is almost ready for release.
On the nose, there will be sweet forest fruits, vanilla and toffee, hints of poached pears, candied citrus fruit, fig and sultana, all balanced with a gentle hint of clove. On the palate, you can expect a rich and full-bodied texture, with sweet sherry notes of dried fruit and spice. These flavours are balanced with foraged fruit flavours, sweet creamy malt, nuts, and dark chocolate and a hit of espresso. To finish, you’ll experience a long and lingering dried fruit flavour with subtle hints of warm spices.
